Grace's New Room

Here is a glimpse of the before, during and after of Gracie's new room. There are still many last touches to be done. For example, the canopy needs to be made for the bed, as well as curtains. I would also like to add some pictures on the walls. Those are projects for a later day however. Grace likes to call her room the princess room. Dan and I are subtly working on changing that. It has now become the polka-dot princess room and we hope to drop the princess off the end of that really soon. I can only handle so much princess talk before I feel like I might throw up. It's all for her good in the end right? The other day Grace had on this nasty pink princess dress that is all velvet and sparkles. She wore it to the store and Dan says to me, "If she wasn't my daughter I would be really repulsed right now." Yeah, were great parents, but it's for the greater good. No one likes a princess. (Except for Grace...sigh.)

That's darling Heather! You'll have to tell Grace what a wonderful job she did with the painting. I think she might be a prodigy.

I love the pink room! It's quite the transformation. Now how are you going to keep Grace from calling it the princess room if there's so much pink? :) Let me know what days are free for you when you are here - I'll just be getting ready for the baby to come!

WOW!!! It looks so good Heather! I could never take and do that to a room. Way to go. However, don't work too hard making your house perfect, or else you'll never want to leave it... and we definately want you to move back to Utah!!!

I am sure Grace will eventually call it the polka dot room if she keeps hearing it from you all. If not I am sure Davy will keep her in reality. The room looks awesome in pictures but the effect is so much more profound in person! You all should go visit!

Where did you get such cute furniture. That is the cutest bedroom set! Were there hard wood floors under the carpet, or did you put that in? I love it

That is darling! Just keep plugging away a little bit at a time- we only have one room left to paint after 18 months, and my goal is to start on it the day after Christmas! Can't wait to see the rest of the house.
