Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas in Utah this year. It was so nice to have some time with family. There was lots of food, lots of snow and lots of fun. The kids were spoiled with presents and attention. Attention being the biggest factor. They both want me to hold them constantly now that we are home. Sorry kids, I can't take the place of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins all in one. It is always sad to leave, but we were so glad that we were able to go. Especially because Dan got to come with us this time. It feels like it has been a long time since he has been home. I didn't take as many pictures as I meant to (hardly any at all, truth be told). Some of the highlights I missed with the camera were: present opening, Gracie and David's sleepover with Mammy, Spencer's birthday party, etc. We didn't get to see everyone or squeeze everything in, but all in all, it was a great visit. Just before Christmas I found this fabulous santa suit for five dollars at the thrift store. How could I pass that up?! It took a little convincing to get her to wear it. She was very into being Rudolph instead. However after some convincing, and bribing, I got her into it and it was worth the effort. Isn't that hilarious? She wouldn't wear it for long...fortunately we were able to take a few pictures.
My family still reenacts the Nativity story every year, but it is getting a lot cuter now that there are kids in the picture again. Grace got to be be Mary with Dan as Joseph (at her request.) She was the most serious Mary that you have every seen. It was hilarious. She wouldn't even crack a smile for the pictures. Being Mary is a serious job after all. She wanted Davie to be Baby Jesus, but we convinced her that he wasn't holy enough for such a role.

The snow was a big highlight of the trip for Dan. It seems he really missed the cold, white stuff while we were in Hawaii. I don't find it all so appealing when I can' t ski or sled, etc. But, it was beautiful and it was great to see Dan and Grace enjoying it together. Grace wanted to go out so we bundled her up in an awesome new snow suit she got from Mammy. The first thing that Dan did was throw her in to make a snow angel. I didn't think that was the best first approach, but she survived.
Grace and David's highlight was the new kitty that my mom got. That poor cat is probably so relieved that they have left. They didn't leave her alone for a second. She was suprisingly patient during the whole ordeal, so that was nice. I was sure Grace or David were going to end up scratched before it was all over.

I love the picture of Grace as Mary. I think it is adorable that she took her role seriously. Maybe she can be the next Dakota Fanning.

It was so good to see you Heather, next time I want to see the whole Brady bunch. Love you! Take care!

Okay!!!! You were in Utah! I understand the holidays are full with family stuff, but we could have met up somewhere. Connor would have just to have seen Gracie! Miss you and I hope we are all still on for Moab next summer.

I love Gracie’s Santa costume! I'm so glad that you were able to go to Utah. We were so sad we couldn't come and visit you in CT this year. Perhaps next year!

Ahh, that santa suit is awesome, and her as Mary, what a doll.

I am so happy the whole clan got to come back for xmas. IT has got to be nice to come home to family, every once in a while. Believe me, living around family 24/7 can be a bit overwhelming.

I can't wait to see pics of your new house. I've seen a few, but more is always better. I've really have no ideas on paint at that moment. I used up all the creativity I had in me on our house, I may never paint again (such a pain). But I do have to say, go bold and have fun with it. You won't regret it.

I'm sad I didn't get to see you while you were here, but the holidays are always crazy. Next time you come in town, it will be my mission :)
