Sometimes big worms break.

Why oh why don't my babies come out! Today is the actual due date, so I know I shouldn't be feeling so frustrated yet, but come on...this is my third kid. Would it be such a big deal for the baby to come out a little early?! I think I have the gestation of an elephant. I have to confess, I have tried everything. Long walks, spicy food, evening primrose oil, accupressure, acupuncture, even castor oil (which interestingly didn't even make me a little bit sick). Last night I had about six hours of good regular contractions then nothing. I am going crazy! If anyone has any good suggestions...clue me in.

We spent the day yesterday working in the yard. The kids had so much fun playing outside. I love this tree in our yard. Unfortunately, so do Grace and David. Which is all well and good except for when they are in the tree, I have to stand there and can't do anything else.

Here is Gracie with her worm buddy for the day. She found the worm and was instantly attached. After we talked about the worm being a living creature and her needing to be gentle, she decided the worm was her baby and carried it all around. Unfortunately the worm was over-loved and eventually broke in half. I waited for the tears, but instead she just informed me that she needed a new one. Good thing we started with worms, rather than a puppy. When I put her to bed she told me philosophically, "Sometimes big worms break, mommy." Yes Grace, sometimes they do. The funniest was David's reaction. Where is the video camera when you need it? Grace would hold up the worm and David would let out the highest pitched scream I have ever heard. He would run away and Grace would chase him saying, "He doesn't have teeth Davie, he won't bite you." Somehow I pictured this scenario going down a little differently. Good to know my kids aren't entirely stereotypical.

HAHAHA that is soooooo funny about the worm! Especially that Davie was such a wuss...isnt he supposed to be a typical boy???? P.S. Sorry my love about the baby. Your womb must just be too much like heaven to want to come out! GOOD LUCK...keep me posted!

That is such a great story. I am glad you aren't raising a prissy little girl. As for Davie, hopefully he will be the sensitive, caring type of boy!

Come baby #3, come to earth, it is a lovely place to be.

Oh, it's so frustrating at the end when you're ready to be done! I had a woman tell me to do nipple stim, and we laughed, haha, but she SWORE it worked for her. I had a breastpump, so I pumped for like, 1/2 an hour. I even got out a little colostrum. I actually went into labor 48 hours later, course, it could have been a coincidence, but it's worth a shot! good luck! Post a belly pic!

That is such a bummer, I am hoping this baby gets there sooner rather than later!! I am a big fan of WALKING the baby out. Is your dr. willing to induce or strip membranes? Sending you good labor vibes from WA!!!

That's a great tree! My boys would have fallen out with broken arms by now, I'm sure. Good luck with your baby!!

Bummer...Nate and I didn't want to call and make you feel worse but we have been thinking of you nonstop. I am glad to hear you aren't climbing trees at your stage although, hmmm....maybe that could induce labor. Just kidding. Keep us posted.
