Stories

So I have a few funny stories to tell. Not really related to eachother, but ones I would like to relate.

Last night we put Davie to bed early and so had dinner with just Grace. She clearly loved the attention...it almost broke my heart to see the way she basked in it. Clearly more individual time is needed. Anyway, the whole meal she was so polite and ate so well. She would ask me to "Pass the chicken please." and "Thanks for the nice meal Mama." (never mind that Dan made it) I have never even heard her say that before. Then she said "I would like to snug on the couch now please." So we cuddled on the couch and then she said "I am ready to have a good night now" and off she went to bed. Is this how it would always be if she was an only child?!

Today was raining so we went to the McDonalds playland. Grace is usually shy so I was so excited to see her approach a little red-headed boy and chat with him and ask him to play. They had so much fun. When we left she told me she had made an orange friend today. Maybe classifying people by their hair is a healthier approach then by their skin?

So, finally, oral surgery school has been full of interesting people and events. Many very good people, but of course, a few jerks. And let's face it...the jerks are more fun to talk about. Their is one guy who is just so stereotypically an oral surgeon. He was paged by a hospital to come take out a tooth. Apparently that was beneath him so after raging on the phone at the nurse he concludes by saying "I'm not an f-ing dentist!" What has my poor, sweet Dan gotten himself into?! (I find this story so funny because that guy fits such a stereotype...I mean come on...pulling teeth is the majority of oral surgeons do!)

Ok..these stories are too funny! Lewis is definitely a complete angel and so well-behaved when we are alone with him..hilarious. The OS story is even more funny...greg will get a kick out of that..poor sweet dan is all I can think of :) I am sure he is exactly what the program needs!

Sweet Grace! Oh how we miss her. Glad to hear she is breaking out of that shell (that I didn't really ever get to see her in).

I love that story about the orange friend! Evy is a red head and she gravitates towards other red-headed children- I don't know why, but kids really are observant of those kinds of things. Very interesting about the oral surgeon. Poor Dan! He'll make such a good one, because he's so humble and kind!

Finding a humbe oral surgeon is like pulling teeth!! You must have pulled a lot of teeth before you found Dan. He is one in a million.

I can't wait to tell that to Matt when he gets home... my lowly dentist of a husband will find it very funny :)

Nice Grace. She'll probably call Katelyn her orange cousin. That sucks that Dan gets surrounded by such jerks. We all know that he's pretty resilient despite his surrounding friends...like Nate's apparant fascination with candy. Wait Dan did decide to be a candy-addict. Keep close tabs on the boy Heather. Just kidding. Love ya.

That is hilarious about her orange friend! I'm sure there's more "out of the mouth of babes" stories to come, I can't wait.
