Dancing Queen

Gracie had her first ballet/tap class this morning at the North Haven Recreation Center. She has been wanting to take dance classes for a very long time, so as you can imagine, this was a big day for her. She woke up early and pestered all of us until we were out the door and on our way. I have to admit, she looked adorable. She was attentive the entire hour, and was dissapointed when it was over. I have always been a bit klutzy, and I like to say that this was because I never took any dance classes to help me acquire some grace. (You have to blame something, right?!) So Dan likes to joke that I am living vicariously through Grace. I have to admit that a little part of me wants to take ballet now too:) It looked fun! The stage mom in me has to brag about Grace a little. Her teacher kept asking me, "Are you sure she has never had lessons before." No, but she has spent countless hours watching the Nutcracker and copying the moves. So, without further adieu, here's the little dancing queen.

What a great thing. I never took dance lessons either, but I've always loved to dance--dance is therapy, it's exercise, and it's just fun!

Wow! How cute is she? I took dance when i was little and loved it. I had no grace--and still don't, but it was really fun. The costumes are out of control. I bet she will adore those.

Emily wants to take ballet also. I told her she couldn't start until this fall. She'll be so jealous Grace has already had a class. Emily's new dream is to teach ballet as her career goal. I have to admit, I don't think she quite has the coordination---but I may be surprised.

You are going to be a beautiful ballerina Gracie, and let's face it, you already have "grace". Thanks for sharing your pictures, I'm always excited to see what you're doing and how big you are getting. I hear that Davie is an awesome contender in the gymnastics arena also - way to go Davie!! I miss you all very much!

I feel ya Heath. I can't wait to sign up the girls. Katelyn's always dancing around and I think it's so sweet. I am sure Nate will have plenty of snickers but that's why we Mom's have to hold on strong.
